10 Reasons Why Linux is Better than Windows

Linux is better than windows
Recently I read a post on yahoo answers about people asking about the type of operating system they should use for their personal use. This post is for all out there who needs a comparison between the two most powerful operating systems in the market. There are 10 possible reason I personally feel Linux is better than Windows.

1. It Doesn’t Crash

Linux is the most prominent operating system all around Europe due to the fact that Linux is much more reliable as compared to Windows. It does not crash; it has been proven by the statistics of the users that Linux does not crash. Linux is employed in many of your house hold equipments including your Television box and Game players.

2. Viruses Are Few and Far Between

It is nearly impossible to infect a system like Linux which is designed so that makes it very difficult to become infected. A lone user could root local harm to his or her documentation and archives by running a virus on his or her system; however this kind of infection would be very much limited and could not be propagated outside individual system.

3. Linux is free

One of the most prominent reasons to use Linux is that you can easily find a copy of genuine Linux for free and you can also obtain its upgradable version over the internet without any kind of charge or fee.  In the era of multi-computer households this can be a humongous saving.

4. Freedom of Choice

Linux proposes liberty of alternative as far as which producer you acquire the software from as well as which software or programs you desire to utilize. Being able to choose the producer means you have a genuine alternative as far as nature of support you get. Being open-source software, new manufacturers can enter the market to address customer needs.

5. Standards

Linux itself and many common applications follow open standards. This means an update on one system will not make other systems obsolete.

6. Applications, Applications, Applications

Every new version of Linux comes with hundreds and in some statistics thousands of applications and programs you would like to download and use for the success and benefit of your company and system. And all kinds of software and applications you get are free of charge.
For the extra technically prone, development tools, such as compilers for the C, C++, Ada, Fortran, Pascal and other languages, are included as well as Perl, PHP and Python interpreters. Editors and versioning tools also are present in this group.

7. Interoperability

In this era of networking, interoperability is one of the factors people tend to prefer Linux over Windows. No system would be absolute if it does not consist of tools to permit it to interoperate with computers running other operating systems. Once again, Linux is very strong in this area.
.

8. It’s a Community Relationship, Not a Customer Relationship

Windows and similar operating systems are developed and upgraded by only single vendor or personnel. But Linux has its own characteristics that it can be shared between other vendors and market places where people cannot afford to buy expensive software for their computer. This means you become part of a community rather than a customer of a single manufacturer.

9. It’s Not How Big Your Processor Is…

Since Linux is an amalgamation of the internal design of Linux and development donations from a varied community, Linux tends to be more prudent in the use of computer resources. This could patent itself in a single desktop system running faster with Linux than with another operating system, but the benefits go far beyond that.

10. Linux Is Configurable

Linux is a factual multi-user operating system. Each client can have his or her individual arrangement all on single computer. This arrangement may include desktop layout, program configurations and related application designs
